Selecting the Picture Mode According to the Shooting
Scene (Picture mode)
You can select the Picture mode according to the shooting scene.
Picture mode
There are nine available modes in Picture mode.

Press the four-way controller () in Capture mode.
The virtual mode dial appears.

Use the four-way controller (

) to
select the Picture mode dial ( ).
The default setting is ( ).
The Picture mode dial appears.

Press the four-way controller () to
select the desired mode.

Use the four-way controller () to
move the icon for the Picture mode
you want to set at the top of the
dial.

Press the OK button.
The Picture mode is selected.

Press the shutter release button.
The picture is taken.
In Picture mode, the EV compensation, saturation, contrast, sharp-
ness and white balance are automatically set to their default set-
tings. You can change the settings.

Landscape Enables to take landscape photos with bright colors.
Flower Enables to take flower photos bright in color.
Surf & Snow Enables to take clear photos at dazzling places like beaches and
snow covered mountains.
Sunset
Enables to reproduce beautiful colors for sunrise and sunset photos.
Portrait
Self-Portrait
Enables to take portraits with spatial effect, by emphasizing the person.
Enables you to take pictures of yourself or to be included in pictures.
Autumn Colors
Enables you to take colorful photos of trees in autumn.

Taking Pictures of Dark Scenes (Night-Scene Mode)
You can choose settings appropriate for taking pictures of dark
scenes, such as nightscapes.

Press the four-way controller () in Capture mode.
The virtual mode dial appears.

Use the four-way controller ()
to move the icon for night-scene
mode ( ) at the top of the dial.

Press the OK button.

Press the shutter release button.

The shutter speed is slower when taking pictures of dark
scenes. To prevent camera shaking, secure the camera on a
tripod or other surface.
